Scrub gently and wipe soapy solution off with a clean. It s easiest to clean the hard water stains and or soap scum if you spray on and let sit for 5 10 minutes and then scrub with a soft bristle brush or nylon pad. You can either use regular marble cleaner or try removing the stain using grade 0000 steel wool. But while it is a durable material cleaning it can be a little tricky if you don t use the right products. If not using marble cleaner mix a squirt of gentle non abrasive dish soap with warm water in a spray bottle and spray the counter generously. Mild soap and hot water will do just fine.

Don t use abrasive cleaner or pads either because marble can be scratched. Acidic and abrasive cleansers are a big no no for marble counters because they can scratch and stain the surface. A secret in knowing how to clean marble countertops. For most organic food stains the marble institute recommends cleaning with a solution of 12 hydrogen peroxide and a few drops of ammonia.

If you spilled anything oil based like a vinaigrette. Water stains can be easily removed from marble. But first you should remove any large crusty hard water build up using a plastic scraper to get the bulk of it off.
